All-State Choir
In Spring of 2023, Jonah Harstad and Dominic Bauer were both selected to be apart of Minnesota All-State Choir. That summer they both attended a week long camp where, along with other upper highschool students that were selected, got to rehearse and sing together. At the end of the week they got to perform a concert.
In Febuary, 2024, They went down to Minneapolis to perform another concert, there they got to sing in Orchestra Hall. The choirs they were apart of were directed by directors from all over the country.

Meet Ms. Giannotta
Welcome to Fertile-Beltrami Choir! My name is Emily Giannotta, and I am the choir director for all choirs grades 5-12! I’m so excited to be a part of this wonderful, supportive community and make some beautiful music each and every day! All are welcome in the choir room!
A bit about me: I am originally from just outside of Chicago, Illinois, so the small town of Fertile is certainly a change of pace. My family consists of my parents, my two younger sisters, and our semi-adopted cat Socks. I grew up going to smaller, private schools, very similar to the size of Fertile-Beltrami. Both of my parents and my grandmother have been in education for many years, so teaching runs in the family and has been passed on to me. After falling in love with choir in high school, I went to Gustavus Adolphus College in Saint Peter, MN (GO GUSTIES!) to get my degree in K-12 vocal music education . I student taught at Shakopee High School in Shakopee, MN and at Sotogrande International School in Spain where I lived and taught elementary music for 2 months. Two weeks back in the states and here I am!
Outside of choir, I play the piano, clarinet, alto and tenor saxophone, and ukulele. I’ve always enjoyed theater; I was in many plays and musicals throughout high school and college and can often be found listening to or singing pieces from musicals. In my free time, I enjoy playing the various instruments I play, listening to books, playing Animal Crossing and Mario Kart, and doing paint-by-numbers.
I am so excited to continue learning and growing right alongside my students. As a music teacher, I believe that just as important as the musical excellence we commit to is the meaning and feeling we put into the music we make. I want every student to be able to connect with each other and the music we create, as that’s what makes choir and choral music so special. Thank you for your ongoing support of choir here at Fertile-Beltrami!
